“Last summer, I was living in my apartment with my child’s father and things were going alright.
I found out I was pregnant on August 11th 2020. By September, my child’s father had fell into a bad addiction with a party drug. He lost his job, and I was working 10–12-hour days at a coffee shop. While in his addiction and mess he became aggressive and abusive. The apartment was being ran in and out of by people he was associating with and drugs. So eventually, he went to prison.
The bills fell behind and the people he affiliated with wouldn’t leave my apartment. Out of fear of my unborn child’s safety I left the apartment. I ended up at the local shelter.
