Alice

Alice’s story:

“Last summer, I was living in my apartment with my child’s father and things were going alright.

I found out I was pregnant on August 11, 2020. By September 2020, my child’s father had fell into a bad addiction with a party drug. He lost his job, and I was working 10–12-hour days at a coffee shop. While in his addiction and mess he became aggressive and abusive. The apartment was being ran in and out of by people he was associating with and drugs. So eventually, he went to prison.

The bills fell behind and the people he affiliated with wouldn’t leave my apartment.  Out of fear of my unborn child’s safety I left the apartment. I ended up at the local shelter.

One day, my child’s grandmother (his mother, Carmen) told me about Tender Care. So I called and Ms. Jackie became my advocate! I was so eager to learn all about my child’s development and motherhood. I completed my classes after work! The classes were so easy and full of information that was easy to absorb and covered all the surfaces of things to know during and after pregnancy.

If there was anything I needed they provided me with anything! Diapers, car seat, clothes.  You name it! And even after I completed my classes, I received a nice diplomat and gift bags! Because I took the classes I had such an easy birth and knew exactly how to take care of the end of my pregnancy and my newborn. Even after the birth of my baby, they would still check up on me and my baby and ask me if I needed anything!

To this day, Ms. Jackie and I still talk regularly, and I share pictures. I was given such support and treated with such respect. Without Tender Care, I wouldn’t be where I’m at now!

Now, when I see any woman who is in need during their pregnancy, I always recommend Tender Care to them. I will always advocate for Tender Care as they did for me!!

They have been the biggest blessing for my baby and I. Because of Tender Care, I am 6months postpartum and have the healthiest baby girl and enjoying every single second of being a new young mom!”
